In the year 1938, the 1st Kenyan Legendary runner was born in Kericho. He was raised in this land of clean air and beautiful tea fields. From an early age, he ran 6km one way to school and back in the morning and afternoon covering 12km in a day. Through his tough lifestyle, he developed a very strong athletic body. His lungs and legs got so strong with time and after becoming a good athlete training in high altitude and tough terrain of Kericho across tea plantations, he ended up winning his country it’s first medal in the men's 800m final at the Tokyo Olympics on October 16, 1964. Since then, the country has won medals at every Olympic Games. His achievements are still celebrated in Kericho, where he was born and raised, they named their main stadium after him. He died on November 1, 2022 in Kericho aged 84 years old. In Early 2012, athletes who followed his will were training in Iten aiming to participate in London Olympics which was to be held that year. Olympics Corner first began producing bracelets to inspire athletes to train hard for the Olympics, with the idea that it was a stepping stone and great inspiration towards Olympics. The bracelets made in Olympics Corner have brought strength to many athletes, and their influence has spread throughout the world. The presence of the country's first medalist has grown the country in terms of running culture and laid the foundation for it to dominate the world. We pay our utmost respect to him as a man who liberated this country from a long colonial era and brought a lot of pride to the people. And so, Iten Manufacturing was founded as a group to carry on his will and achievements.
